David Suchet is expanding his Agatha Christieverse with a travelog produced by Pernel Media, in which he heads down the River Nile.
Suchet, who played Hercule Poirot with aplomb in dozens of Christie adaptations, is presenting Mysteries on the Nile with Sir David Suchet, which has been pre-bought by Australia’s SBS and will be on sale at this week’s London TV Screenings.
In Mysteries on the Nile, Suchet, who has long been fascinated by ancient civilizations, will explore the enduring enigmas of Ancient Egypt as he travels down one of the most famous rivers in the world. Produced by Pernel Media and helmed by British director Gwyn Williams, the series draws on the latest archaeological discoveries and cutting-edge research.
We are humbled and honored to have received a “Laurier de l’Audiovisuel” award for our series “Raiders of the Lost Pharaohs” during a beautiful evening where the industry as a whole has reinstated its support to public service television, an essential pillar of our profession.
We are proud that the award has been granted in the “Youth” category, as the series is proving successful with families especially on the france.Tv platform.
A massive thanks to the talents, crews, and partners who made it possible!
We are also proud that the series is already a success internationally.
NOVA (GBH PBS) will broadcast at 9PM tonight (11/02) “Mammals Origins”!
Before the dinosaurs.
Before flowers.
260 million years ago, a discreet lineage was already laying the foundations of our existence: the therapsids — the direct ancestors of mammals… and therefore of humans.
This film was made possible thanks to the renewed trust of our partners:
France Télévisions, GBH NOVA (PBS), NHK, Japan Broadcasting Corporation, Ushuaia TV, Radio-Canada, and ZDF Studios.
“Meurtres à Millau” was a major ratings hit, drawing 5.1 million viewers, including 1.2 million on the france.tv platform — making it the highest prime-time audience across all French television in January.
The film also achieved a remarkable 25.8% audience share, a season record for the “Meurtres à” collection.
A huge thank you to all the teams, cast members, partners, and to France Télévisions for their continued support.
