Recently listed as part of France’s intangible cultural heritage, the skills of master glassmakers are the result of a long tradition passed down from generation to generation. In France, nearly 2,000 craftsmen perpetuate this know-how which is now threatened by mechanization. Faced with factories that produce at low cost, glassmakers must therefore redouble their ingenuity. Young people and more and more women are there to ensure the succession.
