There’s a swamp as big as the whole of England. It is so large that it can be seen from space. Located in the heart of Brazil, it is the crossroads of all the waters of the Americas.Seductive and even bewitching, the swamp also knows how to be merciless. With 6 months of dry season without a single drop of water and then 6 months of torrential rains that engulf everything in their path, surviving in its midst is a challenge. That’s why, for millions of years, the swamp has shaped the only large predator capable of surviving here. That animal is the jaguar of the Pantanal.
Abigail Martin is a biologist. She left everything behind to pursue her passion for jaguars in the Pantanal. She has now been following in their footsteps for over 10 years and has seen many of her protégés born and raised. However, last year her entire study area went up in smoke… and she is determined to return this year to find her jaguars.
