Following The Au Pair and Missed Call, the French company founded and run by Samuel Kissous is launching its third English-language series in two and a half years at Mipcom. Quite a feat for an outfit that has already made its name with premium documentaries.
Last Resort, produced for 5 and distributed by StudioCanal, is directed by Sean Ellis (The Cut starring Orlando Bloom, Anthropoid starring Cillian Murphy) and strars some of the best UK’s TV actors such as Caroline Quentin, Niamh Cusack, Tessa Peake-Jones, Jason Watkins, John Hannah and Bronagh Waugh. The 6-parts series tell the story of Gail, a retired librarian, who go on a buckelist seaside holiday with her sister Joe and their friends Dee and Charlie. When a tragedy occurs and police run it an accident, the friends suspect murder and investigate themselves.
