Pompeii is one of the most extraordinary archaeological sites in the world: the intact preservation of an ancient city of 15000 inhabitants. Yet many mysteries remain: a third of the city remains totally unexplored! This film follows the archaeologists of Pompeii live and exclusively on the last excavation field opened in 2022, in a rich district suspended above the Gulf of Naples with a breathtaking view of Vesuvius. 

A team led by the Italian archaeologist Paolo Mighetto undertakes excavations in the lower floors of one of the villas of the district. There we will discover the daily life of the rich Romans just before the volcanic eruption of Vesuvius. A unique immersion in an unknown Pompeii, precursor of our chic and rich seaside resorts of Portofino or Saint-Tropez.
