Realscreen: Pernel Media names Mediawan vet Jean-Marc Rouhette as company’s first COO

Paris-based Pernel Media has appointed former Mediawan senior executive Jean-Marc Rouhette to the newly created role of chief operating officer.

Reporting to Pernel Media president Samuel Kissous, Rouhette will take over responsibility for business affairs, finance and production management. He will also play a key role in the development of the company’s activities in scripted, digital and branded content.

Prior to joining Pernel, Rouhette was head of productions at Mediawan, where he oversaw multiple companies across the factual and scripted genres with overall responsibility for the production process, strategic optimization, and dealing with broadcasters and suppliers. Before that, he spent several years at Lagardère Studios, where he rose to a similar role at that company.

“Jean-Marc brings a fantastic wealth of expertise with him as we gear up for the next stage of our development in both factual and drama programming for the global market,” Kissous said in a news release.

Pernel recently announced a string of factual commissions, including After the Asteroid for France Télévisions, The Mayans: From Origins to Downfall for RMC Decouverte, Histoire TV and ZDF Info, and the premium docuseries Rise of the Vikings for Planète+ and C8.
